4. Google User Data & OAuth Compliance
Because we rely on Google APIs and offer Google sign-in, we follow Google's requirements by ensuring:
- This Privacy Policy is publicly available, hosted on our verified domain, and linked from our home page and consent screens
- We disclose what Google user data we access, how we store it, how we use it, and with whom we share it
- We only use Google user data for the purposes described in this policy
5. Google Calendar Data Access
When you choose to sign in with Google, Balance may request permission to access your Google Calendar through the following OAuth scopes:
- ./auth/calendar - to read your calendar metadata and event details
- ./auth/calendar.events - to create, update, or delete events when you choose to schedule through Balance
We request only the minimum access required to provide core functionality. Balance uses your Google Calendar data solely for:
- Importing and displaying your existing Google Calendar events
- Allowing you to create, edit, or delete events within Balance and sync them back to Google Calendar
- Generating scheduling suggestions or time-blocks based on your preferences and activity patterns
- Keeping your Balance schedule and Google Calendar consistent across platforms
Balance does not use Google Calendar data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to calendar syncing and scheduling.
We never sell, rent, or share Google Calendar data with third parties.
Storage & Retention
Calendar event data is stored securely and is used only while your account is active. If you delete your account or disconnect Google Calendar, Balance will delete all stored Google Calendar data associated with your account.
Limited Use Compliance
Balance adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only access, use, store, or share Google user data in compliance with these rules and solely to provide or improve user-facing features within Balance.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only as long as needed to:
- Deliver the services you requested
- Comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations
- Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements
When personal data is no longer required, we will securely delete or anonymize it.
7. Your Choices & Rights
Depending on where you live, you may be able to exercise the following rights over your personal information:
- Access or correct the personal information we hold about you
- Delete your account or personal data, subject to legal limits
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Object to certain processing activities, including direct marketing

The services are not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and may provide additional notice for material changes. Your continued use of the services signifies acceptance of the updated policy.
